Greg enjoyed playing rugby and being a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
After graduating, Greg spent two year in the Peace Corps in Belize, Central America, He spent his time teaching high school classes and assisting the village in rural economic development. From the hard-working lifestyle that living on a family farm , to the lessons learned in the Peace Corps, by his early twenties Greg already developed a special drive. That drive carried him through his working years, spending years as grain merchandiser in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and Minnesota. He eventually worked his way into management and spent 18 year working in Omaha, Nebraska.
He retired from his position as Vice President – General Manager of Gavilon in 2016. In his many years of business travel while visiting locations and customers around the world, Greg had the opportunity to be exposed to many cultures. He especially like taking in the art scene wherever available. He knew that he wasn’t meant to be an artist, but he holds immense respect for art and those who create it.
He also developed a passion for bicycling. From the local weekly Taco Ride in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to the cross-Iowa ride of RAGBRAI, to a 1,600-mile seven country Euro-ride in 2018. Greg has always enjoyed biking. Now in his retirement, Greg has decided he wants to give back to his community where it all began and support artists in the best way possible. In his hometown of Holdingford, on the Lake Wobegon trail, Greg has opened Art in Motion /BoHo Cafe, an art gallery, artist workshop and cafe. He hopes that this will support art appreciation and community to central Minnesota.
