Join us for a reception of Anne Labovitz’s New Work: Creative Connections, a site-specific art installation in our very own gallery on Saturday, May 8th from 4-6 pm. We are so excited about having this site-specific art installation in our gallery because it activates the space from floor to ceiling in over 1,000 linear feet of painting. The experience of this piece is immersive, approachable, and connected to the outside world easily visible through the gallery windows. The paintings were created this winter during the same time in which Labovitz was mentoring 18 area high-school-age artists through Art in Motion and the work carries inspiration from this mentorship as well as inspiration of the site itself. With the bright color and playful forest-like forms, this piece is a sort of gateway drug to contemporary art for intimidated or apprehensive art viewers.
Come and meet the artist of this amazing artistic feat!
