Matchmaking Concert

Sargasso and Cathie English take the stage at Art in Motion for an evening of Music! As part of our Matchmaking music series.

Art in Motion committed to supporting local musicians at all levels. The Matchmaking concert series is a mentorship pairing program we hope will organically contribute to the growth and enrichment of musicians in our area.

For you, the audience, this means that you will get to hear TWO groups perform in one evening with the wood fired pizza, AND IT’S FREE TO ATTEND! We do still encourage donations to the musicians.

Sargasso will perform from 5-7 pm and Cathie will play from 7-9pm

Sargasso is the latest in a series of projects featuring the music of Bob Nordquist, an acclaimed Minnesota songwriter, featuring a progressive world folk sound. The 2 principals, Bob Nordquist ans Leo Whitebird have worked together for over 20 years and over the course of 9 full-length record releases.

Sargasso plays a percussive and melodic blend of folk rock styles with music focusing on the environment, world peace and other issues facing the world today. With flute and sax the band seeks to break out of the basic idioms of the Rock world and bring a bit more of a world vibe to our performances, with percussion instruments available for audience participation as well. 3 part harmonies float over the music to bring the songs closer to the listener's ear and engage the audience.
