Join us for a Facebook Livestream of the Student Art Exhibition 2021.
Over the past 6 months, 18 students from schools in the Central Minnesota area have been attending meetings over Zoom with Internationally recognized, St. Paul-based artist, Anne Labovitz, and Art in Motion Art Coordinator, Lily Brutger, to develop their creative practices and build a professional creative community within their mentee cohort. This program, generously sponsored by Art in Motion, has provided students with professional mentorship on their independent and interdisciplinary art projects ranging from original piano compositions, visual 2D art, sculptures, and poetry. Bonding and building a diverse creative community over making and creativity became a refuge from the challenges this past winter has placed on these youth. Their projects are culminating in a professional gallery exhibition experience in which mentees will learn how to install their own work in the gallery. The show will open on April 13th with the Spring re-opening of Art in Motion/Boho Cafe. A small reception for families of the students will take place on Saturday, April 17th at 4 pm. Performing arts students will be presenting their original compositions and poems live at this reception.
See the show from April 13th to May 2nd.
